Rapper Waka Flocka Flame cancelled his scheduled performance at the University of Oklahoma after a video of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity members singing a racist chant surfaced on the web.
Set to perform April 26, Flocka posted a message on his Instagram account stating that he was “disgusted” by the video, which has been widely reported and shared via YouTube.
The clip showed white SAE members dressed in formal attire as they jubilantly clapped and pumped their fists in the air while singing out an offensive epithet about lynching African-Americans.
“There will never be a n—-r in SAE. You can hang them from a tree, but they’ll never sign with me,” they chanted.
By Sunday night, President of OU David Boren immediately severed all ties and affiliations with the fraternity and forced all SAE residents to remove their possessions and vacate the fraternity house.
