Is it the end for Childish Gambino?
Donald Glover made a name for himself under his alter ego pseudonym, which he used to release three projects, including his latest STN MTN/Kauai in 2014.
However, while promoting his new horror film The Lazarus Effect on The Today Show, Glover hinted at the retirement of his stage name.
“I guess Childish Gambino is a period in my art time. I want to have periods in my life,” said the 31-year-old rapper-actor. “I feel like Childish Gambino is a period that should come to a close. I like endings.”
Nonetheless, Glover says he loves music and plans to continue producing.
“I always want to do music,” he assured.
Despite the reveal, Glover is scheduled to perform at festivals this year, which include Bonnaroo in June and London’s Wireless Festival in July.
He is also set to appear in The Lazarus Effect, which premieres in theaters this Friday (Feb. 27), and Magic Mike XXL in July.
