Kendrick Lamar will be headlining this year’s Essence Festival in New Orleans as musical talents and performers come together to celebrate the magazine’s 25th anniversary.
The three-day extravaganza will also bring musicians Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu and Common, alongside comedians Kevin Hart and Nephew Tommy from the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
In addition to the concerts at the superdome and four secondary “superlounge” stages, Essence includes free daytime seminars, which will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Former acts in the past decades have included Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, Janet Jackson, Chris Brown, Usher and Bill Cosby.
The 21st annual Essence Festival will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans from July 2-5.
