An attorney representing singer Bobby Brown has released a statement slamming the media for making false updates in reports about the condition of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who has been in a medically induced coma since Jan. 31.
Bobbi Kristina, Brown’s daughter with Whitney Houston, is being treated in an Atlanta hospital after she was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her home last month.
A number of news outlets have quoted sources indicating that the family plans to take the 21-year-old off life support today (Feb. 11), the day that marks the three year anniversary of the death of Whitney Houston.
The statement that was released yesterday (Feb. 10) on Brown’s behalf reads:
“We support the candlelight vigil for Bobbi Kristina. The Brown family is amazed by the love and support from all that attended. However the false reports that continue to appear in print and on the internet are egregious, false and will be dealt with at an appropriate time.
In particular, the false reporting of TMZ, The National Enquirer, The Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Daily Mail (UK) citing, police sources, family sources and Bobby Brown himself, will receive my attention. The desire to be ‘first’ has clouded the judgment of many reporters as they forego accuracy. This is a criminal investigation and the integrity of that process requires silence.”
Bobby also thanked everyone who attended a candlelight vigil held in his daughter’s honor on Monday (Feb. 9) and requested privacy going forward.
“We continue to request privacy in this matter. We thank everyone that supported the vigil for Bobbi Kristina. God is hearing our prayers,” he said.
The family has not given any official updates about Bobbi Kristina’s condition.
