‘Being Mary Jane’ Gets Renewed For Third Season

It looks like we will be seeing more of Gabrielle Union… and we’re not complaining!

Just two days after BET premiered the second season of Being Mary Jane, the network decided to lock down a third, much to the steller ratings and elation of viewers everywhere since its premiere last year.

The series ranked No. 1 as a new original cable drama series in its freshman run among adults and women between the ages of 18 and 49. It is one of several dramas with a cast comprised of mostly black talents or a black lead to launch and succeed over the past year, along with OWN’s The Haves And Have Nots, Fox’s Empire and ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder.

Produced by Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, the Being Mary Jane stars Union as Mary Jane, a journalist who struggles to juggle her life, work and family while she searches for her Mr. Right.

Being Mary Jane airs Tuedays at 10 p.m. on BET.
