Singer Bobby Brown has asked for privacy regarding the condition of Bobbi Kristina, his daughter with Whitney Houston, who is being treated in an Atlanta-area hospital after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her home Saturday.
“The report that Bobbi Kristina Brown has been taken to the hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, is accurate. No additional information will be forthcoming. Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time,” said the statement.
The statement was issued by attorney Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC, legal counsel for Bobby Brown, and reported via E! and other media outlets.
Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, was rushed to the hospital on Saturday.
Brown’s husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend found her face down in a tub in their Roswell home and started CPR, police said.
When Roswell police officers arrived to the scene at 10:25 a.m., she was still unresponsive and they took over life-saving measures until an ambulance arrived to transport Brown to the hospital.
Brown’s condition remains unclear. Medical officials and family members have not commented. A source told E! News that Bobbi Kristina was still unresponsive and was breathing with the help of a ventilator. According to two other sources, she is now in a medically-induced coma, as reported by several outlets.
The news of Brown’s condition comes just days before the anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death, an eerily similar incident. Brown’s mother, was found unresponsive in a tub and died nearly three years ago in California. A coroner ruled her February 11, 2012 death an accidental drowning, with heart disease and cocaine as contributing factors.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances that led Brown to become unresponsive.
