LL Cool J Tapped To Host ‘Lip Sync Battle’ on Spike

Late night talk show personality Jimmy Fallon tapped LL Cool J to host Spike TV’s original series Lip Sync Battle.

Started by originators Stephen Merchant, John Krasinski and Fallon, the show features celebrities as they go head to head in a lip-syncing battle to a song of their choice. Now, with all three signed on to produce and perform as contestants on the show, the rapper has been designated to take over microphone duties when the competition arrives on April 2.

“Like the rest of the world, I’m a big fan of these battles, but this show is going to bring it to a whole new level,” LL Cool J said in a press release with Entertainment Weekly. He will be the third host to take on a gig on the Spike TV show. Common serves as the MC on the furniture-building competition Framework and guitarist Dave Navarros serves as the running host and judge of a tattoo artist contest called Ink Master.

LL, who currently stars in NCIS: LA, will serve as a producer on Lip Sync Battle when the 10-episode series begins taping in New York City this month.
