Lifetime just can’t seem to catch a break these days.
Former En Vogue singer Dawn Robinson says she is preparing to sue Lifetime if the network airs En Vogue Christmas, a holiday-themed movie about the group.
The television film, which is set to air this weekend, is a fictional film that follows a family that convinces the group to reunite in an effort to save a local concert house.
Robinson, who split from the R&B group in 1997, will not be included in the film. Instead, the original members Terry Ellis and Cindy Herron will star along with Rhonda Barrett, who joined in 2003 as Robinson’s replacement.
According to TMZ, suing the network may not be as easy as she hopes since she relinquished her En Vogue rights when she left the group years ago.
Despite the legalities, Robinson says, “I have no interest in watching it. It looks horrible. I’m sad for them. After seeing the Aaliyah biopic, I’m extremely worried that this is going to be a train wreck.”
En Vogue Christmas is set to premiere on Saturday, November 22 at 8/7c.
