Los Angeles Clippers stars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin mesh so well together on the court that they are taking their talents to cable television to star in the Jordan Brand’s first-ever comedy sketch campaign titled BGCP3TV in HD.
The two NBA stars have teamed up with legendary comedian Neal Brennan of Chappelle’s Show for a two-part comedy special.
“There are a lot of funny athletes out there, but it’s rare that you see a guy like Blake — I can honestly say he’s an actor who just happens to be an amazing basketball player,” Brennan said to Nikeinc.com. “But don’t sleep on CP, either. Watching him, you see right away that he’s got plenty of talent and the situational awareness needed to pull off the jokes.”
Both Paul and Griffin are excited about the chance to show off a new set of skills.
“On the bus, after practice or getting lunch, it seems like there’s always a competition to make each other laugh,” Paul said. “It’s fun to come out here and give it a shot on our own comedy show.”
Griffin adds: “The funny thing is it doesn’t really feel like acting. This is pretty much just us being us, but in some pretty crazy situations that Neal Brennan came up with.”
Each episode will be five minutes and will premiere during commercial time of the Adult Swim network.
BGCP3TV in HD premieres October 24th at 12:12 AM on Adult Swim. A second episode will air at the same time on Oct.31.
