T.I. will soon be heading back to the screen for a much different role than he has in the past. The rapper turned actor will be starring in “Ant-Man,” Marvel Studios’ new super hero movie.
According to IMDb, the film description reads:
Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
T.I., real name Clifford Harris, has not revealed too much about his role in the film, but said he will be playing “a superhero’s homeboy” in an interview with V100.7 Radio.
The rapper will be acting alongside Paul Rudd, who will take on the title role as Ant-Man. Other stars include Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Corey Stoll.
Currently, the script is reaching its final stages after a rewrite by Adam McKay and Paul Rudd. The two spent six to eight weeks working on rewrites for the script after director and co-writer, Edgar Wright, abruptly left the project in May because of creative differences with Marvel, reports Variety.
Despite the changes, “Ant-Man” is slated to hit theaters July 17, 2015.
