NBA All-Star LeBron James is back with the Cleveland Cavaliers, so what better way to highlight King James’ return to Ohio than an all-new commercial, courtesy of Beats by Dre in the midst of ongoing controversy.
Since signing with his original NBA team, this summer has been all about one thing for King James’ first fans: coming home.
The commercial narrated by James’ mother, Gloria, features the song “Take Me to Church” by Hozier. The video titled “RE-ESTABLISHED 2014” offers a sentimental look into James’ hometown roots in Akron that it will give you chills.
James has the words “Akron Est. 1984” tattooed on his chest, which stand as the inspiration for the commercial. It ends with the professional athlete working out in a gym, fitting called LeBron James Arena, located at the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School.
In the description, Beats says:
This offseason, with Powerbeats2 Wireless, LeBron has re-established his body through intense training. He’s also re-established his legacy and connections to the community in Akron.
“Don’t ever forget where you came from,” mama Gloria says.
