Will Smith has tapped into his inner bad boy in the first trailer for “Focus,” an upcoming con-artist tale with Smith as the leading man.
In the trailer, there’s plenty of cash, double-crossing, exotic locations, top-of-the-line fashion and, of course, action. There’s even a little romance to fill out the story.
The heist thriller also starring Rodrigo Santoro (300) and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) is described as follows:
Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off. Three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes racecar circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop…and the consummate con man off his game.
The film is written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who teamed up in the past for “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and “Bad Santa.” Denise Di Novi is the producer, with Charlie Gogolak and Stan Wlodkowski serving as executive producers.
“Focus” hits theaters Feb. 27, 2015.
