Kerry Washington Casted in Romantic Comedy
Kerry Washington could soon be returning to the big screen as the lead actress in a new romantic comedy. According to Deadline, a deal is being made for the Emmy-nominated actress to star in the film Is He The One.
The romantic comedy begins with Washington as a bride dressing for her wedding, and it ends with her walk down the aisle. Told in flashbacks, the story goes from present to past to cycle through the three major relationships in her life. It will end with her joining her groom at the altar, but the big question is: Who is waiting for her at the altar?
The project is set to be directed by Best Man Holiday‘s Malcolm D. Lee with the script written by DJ Richardson and Michelle Morgan, who teamed up for Girl Most Likely. MGM Motion Picture Group President Jonathan Glickman and SVP Cassidy Lange are overseeing the project. Todd Garner is the producer.
Washington’s most recent major studio film was the Quentin Tarantino-directed Django Unchained. Currently, the actress is starring in the fourth season of the ABC hit drama Scandal.
