After being arrested Sunday (Aug. 24) following the discovery of an assault rifle on his tour bus, Young Jeezy pleaded not guilty and posted bail for himself and the five members of his entourage, who were also arrested.
The arrest happened when the Irvine police department executed a search warrant on Jeezy’s tour bus last Sunday at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. The search warrant was issued for an investigation in connection with a shooting in Mountain View, CA, where 38-year-old Eric Johnson died after being shot five times.
Steve Carless, President of Young Jeezy’s label, CTE, and A&R at Atlantic Records, confirmed the news to Billboard with the following statement:
“Young Jeezy has posted bail for all six people [that were arrested]. He will be released tonight in the next hour or so… A full statement is coming soon.”
Young Jeezy is preparing for the release of his album Seen It All: The Autobiography, which drops on Sept. 2.
