In her first gig since leaving ABC’s The View, Sherri Shepherd joined Ice Cube and Kevin Hart in the upcoming Universal Pictures comedy sequel, Ride Along 2.
The stand-up comedian will be joining the cast after this year’s Ride Along grossed over $150 million in domestic ticket sales on a $25 million budget. The film was a box office hit for three consecutive weeks, filming in locations such as Underground Atlanta, Georgia State Capitol, Grady High School and various areas around the city.
No details were given for Shepherd’s character or the sequel’s storyline, but Ride Along 2 will continue to follow James Payton (Ice Cube) and Ben Barber (Kevin Hart) as they travel from Atlanta to Miami Beach for “fun, chaos and shenanigans.”
Miami Heat players Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are reportedly expected to appear in cameos as themselves.
