Beyoncé Donates $7 Million To Build Housing For Homeless In Houston

Beyoncé may be one of the world’s biggest (and richest) pop icons, but this diva living a life of luxury in New York City is also incredibly generous. Sure, she’s had some good news and bad times recently, but Bey always comes out on top!

The 32-year-old Mrs. Carter reportedly donated $7 million towards the construction of a low-income housing project in her hometown of Houston, Texas.

The housing complex will be a 43-unit apartment complex aptly named Knowles-Temenos Place, offering “affordable housing opportunities for extremely-low to low-income persons as well as homeless individuals,” according to the site.

However, Beyoncé’s generosity did not start or end with the housing project. Her pastor, Reverend Rudy Rasmus, who also presided over her nuptials with Jay Z in 2008, praised Queen B for the millions she’s contributed to the ministry and her hometown.

“She’s an incredible human being. [She] has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission… She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work,” he said.

Beyoncé has been a supporter of Rasmus’ congregation at St. John’s United Methodist Church since she was a very young girl, and continues to hold the church dear to her heart.

Aside from the Knowles-Temenos Place donation, the “XO” singer also donated $500,000 towards Chime for Change, an organization that aims to use innovative approaches to raise funds and bring awareness for projects that promote Education, Health and Justice for girls and women.
