Beyoncé Prompts Cheating Rumors With Improvised Lyrics
Did Beyoncé publicly imply that Jay Z might have cheated on her?
The famous duo is currently hitting stages across the country for their On the Run tour, but a little improv with the lyrics to one of Bey’s songs has the rumor mill back up and running.
Beyoncé performed “Resentment” from her 2006 B’Day album, which is about a woman who was cheated on by her lover.
However, instead of singing the line “Been ridin’ with you for six years…,” the superstar changed the lyrics to “Been ridin’ with you for twelve years why did I deserve/ To be treated this way by you.”
With emphasis on the amount of years spent with Jay Z, the crowd noticed the subtle difference and gave whoops of acknowledgement.
Beyoncé first recorded her version of the song when she and Jay had only been dating for four years. Now, the married pair has been together for a total of 12 years and welcomed their beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
An Ohio member of the audience captured the part of the performance which prompts us to speculate if Beyoncé was redirecting the song to infidelity within her own marriage…
