Six months after rapper Big Sean and “Glee” star Naya Rivera announced their engagement, the couple has called off the wedding. A rep for Big Sean confirmed the announcement yesterday.
“After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off,” reads the statement from Big Sean’s camp.
News of the split comes after rumors that the “Control” rapper allegedly cheated on Rivera. His rep dismissed those allegations in the statement as untrue.
“The recent rumors and accusations reported by so called or fake sources are simply untrue. Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately. We will not be commenting again on this matter.”
While the reason for the split is not revealed in the statement, some sources are saying that it was a result of Rivera’s jealousy and controlling nature. It became too much for the 26-year-old MC so he called it quits.
We’re not really sure if the rumors are true, but it looks like it may not have been an amicable split. Naya seems to have unfollowed her now ex-fiance on Twitter and publicly accused him of stealing jewelry from her.
“@bigsean stealing rolexes from a lady’s house now. Maybe cuz I’m on Glee and making more money or something. #triflin,” she tweeted.
According to TMZ, sources close to the the rapper say he did not steal anything from Rivera. Sean bought it for himself when he became successful. He allowed Rivera to wear it, but it was never hers to keep.
Big Sean and Rivera announced their engagement last October, roughly six months after making their relationship public.
