Seahawks’ Christine Michael Grants Autistic Teen’s Prom Wish
While many girls worry about having the perfect date for their senior prom, 18-year-old Taylor Kirkwood of Texas will definitely turn heads with her special date- Super Bowl champion Christine Michael of the Seattle Seahawks.
Taylor’s mom, Stacie, wanted to do something special for her daughter, explaining that the Texas teen has had to overcome her share of challenges.
Taylor has autism and suffered from scoliosis until undergoing surgery two years ago to correct her back issues.
Despite the life obstacles, Taylor keeps a positive outlook about life and was even voted homecoming queen.
“She can be a little bit shy,” her mother, Stacie, told KPRC. “She’s a bundle of fun and she just enjoys life.”
The loving mother reached out to the pro-football player through Taylor’s cousin, who went to college with Michael in Texas, and to her surprise he accepted the invitation.
Kirkwood is excited about her date with Michael. The mother-daughter duo are already prepping for the special night by searching for the perfect pink dress for Taylor to wear. And she’s planning to end the night by giving the Super Bowl champ a sweet kiss.
