School officials in New Jersey are investigating this photo of the Phillipsburg High School wrestling team posing with a black dummy hanging by its neck, according to NYDailynews.com. In the picture, seven boys dressed in maroon and white Phillipsburg High School colors strike various poses as a black dummy hangs from the ceiling them. It could have appeared to be just a rivalry photo amongst high schools but two of the boys wear pointed hoods resembling the KKK.

The photo was taken just hours after Phillipsburg High School wrestling team took a state title. The black dummy appears to wear a wrestling shirt of the team’s competitor, Paulsboro High School.

Phillipsburg Superintendent George Chando was tight-lipped only giving a short statement via email:

“The incident reported is a student matter dealing with minors. An investigation was undertaken and upon conclusion of the investigation, actions were taken by the district consistent with its policies.”

Davontae Randall a member of the Paulsboro High School wrestling team had this to say, “It was kind of disrespectful. It kind of made my stomach feel funny a little bit. It was a bad feeling when I saw it.”

Paulsboro High School sports officials have asked a state Civil Rights agency to look into the photo under an anti-bullying policy.
