Nicki Minaj Releases New Music Video, Reignites Rivalry with Mariah Carey
Nick Minaj has released the video for her new single, “Lookin’ A- N—a.” The Rap Queen took to Twitter yesterday to tip off her Barbz about the new video that was posted on WorldStarHipHop.
Directed by Nabil, the black and white video set in a desert features the rap queen dressed in silver jewelry and a black fishnet dress with a waist length ponytail as she takes an aim at fake and lying guys- figuratively and literally. At one point in the video she shoots a machine gun.
The new single is reported to be featured on her upcoming album, The Pink Print, and also appear on the upcoming Young Money album, Young Money: Rise of an Empire, set to drop March 11.
Fans were excited to have new music from the rap queen, but Mariah Carey- who has been gearing up for the release of her new video for more than two weeks- was less than impressed that her former American Idol rival released a video on the same day.
Mariah Carey stopped by New York’s popular morning show The Breakfast Club for what was meant to promote her new single, but ended in throwing shade at the Young Money rapper.
When ask about her experience judging for American Idol, she replied, “I was a professional on that show, and that’s all I have to say,” she insisted. “I was a complete professional.”
“Nicki was late, though,” one of the hosts added.
“Who?” Carey asked without missing a beat. “I don’t even remember what that was. That was a moment in my life that I’m just going to press delete.”
The two divas clearly refuse to let the feud die down.
