Drake Slams Macklemore’s Grammy Apology To Kendrick Lamar

Drake blasted Macklemore for what he believes was a cheap apology directed at Kendrick Lamar after the Grammys last month.

After Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won Best New Artist and three Grammys in rap categories, Macklemore made a point to express that he thought another nominee should have won.

“You got robbed,” Macklemore texted Kendrick Lamar. “I wanted you to win.”

What should have been a private message, was made very public when the “Thrift Shop” rapper screenshot the message and posted it on Instagram.

In a recent interview with Rollingstone, Drakes gives his opinion on Macklemore’s actions and says he thought “that s— was wack as f—.”

Drake didn’t stop there, and continued with how he believes the

He continued: “I was like, ‘You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn’t deserve it, go get better — make better music,'” he tells Rolling Stone contributing editor Jonah Weiner. “It felt cheap. It didn’t feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?”

Drake didn’t stop there. He also said that if Macklemore was handing out apologies he should have given them to more nominees. “To name just Kendrick? That s— made me feel funny. No, in that case, you robbed everybody. We all need text messages!”

In related news, Drake was also quoted as allegedly taking shots at Kanye West’s lyrics on Yeezus in the same interview. “There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that ‘Swaghili’ line? Come on, man. Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some shit like that.”

Drake quickly took to Twitter to deny the quotes.

“I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone. They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue,”he tweeted. “I’m done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That’s the only way my message gets across accurately.”

The full interview is in the new issue of Rolling Stone on stands Friday.
