Trayvon Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, intend to write a book about the life of their son, the unarmed slain Florida teen.
The two met with publishers last week to shop a deal for the book, reports The New York Times. Publishers present describe the meeting as “somber and moving.”
One publishing executive commented on the topics of the meeting and says parents “spoke eloquently on social issues of race and religion, suggesting that faith could be a central element of the book.”
After spending more than a year at the center of the high profile trial, the parents say they have not fully spoken out about what happened, including their experience at the trial with gunman George Zimmerman who was acquitted in the death of their son. They also say they want to give a full picture of who their son was.
Information about the book’s release date has yet to be announced.
