During his Would You Like A Tour? show in Portland, Oregon on Dec. 3 Drake announced his fresh new deal with Nike’s Jordan brand to make special-edition OVO sneakers.
“So today, I came to Portland and I officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family so I feel like I’m at home right now, if you understand what I’m talking about,” Drake said without getting into specifics. “And it is a family and I don’t take that word lightly.”
Soon after the show, Drake took to Instagram to offer a sneak peek of the collection, posting photos of the upcoming sneakers: Jordan 10′s and OVO Steingray 12′s.
Jordan confirmed the partnership early the next morning on Twitter, tweeting, “He’s home. Welcome the newest member of #TeamJordan: @Drake.”
This new union comes just weeks after Kanye West severed ties with Jordan’s parent company Nike to join forces with Adidas.
