PETA added another influential face to it celebrity campaign by shooting with TLC’s Rozada “Chilli” Thomas.
The TLC singer stars in the animal rights organization’s new anti-circus campaign where the strips down to nothing but striped tiger paint to make a statement.
“The ad photo features Chilli crouched in a cage with rusty bars. The headline of the ad reads, “Beaten, lonely and abused: Boycott the circus.”
In a video on PETA’s website, the 42-year-old singer explains her motivation behind getting involved with the campaign.
“There’s so much cruelty behind the scenes, which is a something that a lot of people don’t get to see,” Chilli says in the video. “They’re being mean to them to make them do this trick…And I think that everybody needs to be aware of what’s really going on.”
“If you can raise awareness to something that’s important, such as this, then you should,” she explains. “Because I know for a fact that I would never want to be in a cage.”
Chilli joins a list of celebs that have joined PETA to publicly denounce circuses that use animals including Jada Pinkett Smith, Olivia Munn, Sarah Silverman and Alec Baldwin.
