Forbes: Michael Jackson Is the Richest Dead Celebrity
He may be dead, but Michael Jackson still beats it: He makes more money than any celebrity, living or dead, according to Forbes.
The money mag released its annual Top-Earning Dead Celebrities List naming Jackson as the top gun with $160 million last year. That’s way more than Elvis, who pulled in a mere $55 million.
That’s even more than Madonna, who made $125 million and landed atop Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list.
This is Jackson’s third time at the top of the dead celebs list, with Elizabeth Taylor losing last year’s crown. Most of the money came from two Cirque du Soleil shows as well as his stake in the Sony/ATV catalog.
