Rapper J.Cole’s newest album, in its third week of release, “Born Sinner” took the number one spot on the Billboard 200 album chart. Many thought that J. Cole’s plan to move the initial the release date for “Born Sinner” up to June 18 was not a smart move; especially due to Kanye West’s highly anticipated album, “Yeezus” dropping the same day.
“Born Sinner” debut at No. 2 behind ”Yeezus” and in its second week stayed at No. 2 behind Wale’s “The Gifted.” In its third week, it only sold 58,000 copies but it was enough to put him at the number 1 spot.
“Born Sinner” has sold 439,000 copies surpassing “Yeezus” 431,000. Maybe this has something to do with Kanye West’s ‘Black Skinhead’ video mysteriously leaking on Monday.
