Michael B. Jordan stars as Oscar Grant in ‘Fruitvale Staion,’ the first feature-length film by USC School of Cinematic Arts graduate Ryan Coogler.
The film is based on a true story of 22 year-old Oscar Grant, who was killed by a police officer at the Oakland, California Fruitvale rapid transit station in 2008.
‘Fruitvale Station’ debuted in the year at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. Dramatic Film. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and won the award for Best First Film.
