Singer Bruno Mars’ Mother Dies of Brain Aneurysm at Age 55
Singer Bruno Mars’ mother, Bernadette Hernandez, died of a brain aneurysm on Saturday.
Hernandez, a hula dancer and singer who emigrated from the Philippines, died at the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, a rep for the singer told CNN Sunday. She was 55.
Mars, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, was just 4 when he began performing in his family’s show as an Elvis impersonator. His mother nurtured his musical talents.
Mars is set to resume his tour on June 22.
