Alicia Keys & Maxwell Debut Music Video for “The Fire We Make”
These two are great on their own, but who knew how amazing they could be together!
Alicia Keys’ latest single release from her album Girl On Fire is appropriately named “Fire We Make.” The singer/songwriter certainly did create some heat in the track’s sensual music video.
The stunning 32-year-old teamed up with Maxwell for the sultry song and accompanying video, and together the pair created a steamy period piece set in the French Quarter of old New Orleans. Both stars demonstrate their impressive vocal range across the track, which only serves to add to the appeal of the video.
The music video begins as a short film, with Alicia’s sultry voice narrating: ‘It was an amazing time. An amazing time to be in New Orleans. The heat, the French Quarter, and him. And we fell in love’, she continues, before a mystery man, the object of her affection shows up.Alicia races downstairs to the reception of Battiers Boarding House, where she works, and the chemistry is immediately evident. As the mysterious guest, Maxwell asks if there is a room available, the slow, soulful beat kicks in.
Alicia looks nothing short of stunning as she lets the mystery man into his room before retreating to her own. The narrative unfolds as the pair, from separate rooms, appear to be resisting the temptation to join one another.
