Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries Divorcing
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are kaput.
The reality TV star released a statement through her publicist confirming that she’s divorcing her NBA player husband of 72 days.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” she said. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”
Her decision seems to have taken Humphries by surprise. He put out a statement through his representative Monday afternoon saying “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce.”
“I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents,” he added. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
In divorce documents posted on TMZ.com, Kardashian cites ”irreconcilable differences” as her reason for ending the marriage. The documents list Laura Wasser as Kardashian’s attorney. Wasser is known for brokering star divorces, including those of Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Angelina Jolie.
