Freddie Lee Trone, the California man at the center of the plot to rob and murder PnB Rock, has been sentenced to 31 years in prison after being convicted earlier. Trone will serve time for his actions after his sentence was heard on Monday.
Local outlet KTLA reports that Trone, 42, was initially convicted of the murder of PnB Rock in 2022 and found guilty on all charges in August. The fatal incident occurred at a Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles location in South Los Angeles, where Trone also faced charges of felony murder, robbery, and conspiracy.
One of Trone’s co-defendants, Tremont Jones, was found guilty of robbery and conspiracy and sentenced to 12 years in prison. Trone ordered his teenage son to rob and kill PnB Rock, serving as the mastermind behind the crime and the getaway driver.
Trone’s son is charged with first-degree murder, with his case set to be heard in juvenile court. Another co-defendant, Shauntrel Trone, pleaded no contest to an accessory after the fact charge and will face sentencing in January 2025.
The sentencing of Freddie Lee Trone highlights the consequences of his actions in the plot to rob and murder PnB Rock. Justice has been served, and the legal proceedings continue for the other individuals involved in the crime.
