Chris Rock documentary “Good Hair” takes on black women’s hair
August 13, 2009
The documentary field heats up even more this October when comedian Chris Rock makes a dazzling debut as a cinema-verite host in Good Hair. The uproarious feature release – opening nationwide in October 9th – already wowed them at Sundance and is getting the kind of buzz usually reserved for Rock’s television stand-up specials. The follicle film follows Rock as he criss-crosses the globe – from hair shows in Atlanta to the weave industry in Inida – expounding on the multi-billion dollar industry of black women’s hair.
Along the way we get insights from celeb pals such as Al Sharpton, Raven Symone, Maya Angelous, Ice-T, Salt-n-Pepa, Paul Mooney and Nia Long. Rock delves into everything from hair relaxers, perms, weaves, styling costs and the hair care industry in the 95-minute documentary.

I am not a hater, I am a motivator.
