I support free speech, but have also had a competitor at Marlene Botter that owns Willow Creek Horse Park in Davis, her attorney Kent Calfee who owned the Spreckles Sugar land next to us, probably along with some unions and our County Supervisor Matt Rexroad come after our business. I own the Historic Nelson Ranch in Woodland CA and was opposing a zoning land use change on the land next ot our ranch from Agricultural zoning to Industrial. It was a 9.3 million dollar deal and the county totally violated the CEQA process. Did I mention the zoning was going to HEAVY Industrial from ag. – the smoke stack nasty stuff right on our property line.

Well I had run for Yolo County Supervisor against Matt Rexroad, he won and owns a nasty little GOP PR Firm known as Meridian Pacific and now represents our area of the county Matt Rexroad has run the campaigns for Bush in CA and is a well connected political hit man. He is paid handsomly for his opinion and to take down and spin politics to get candidates and inititives elected or passed. He combined with a competitor and probably some unions came after us.

They registered mimics of our domain names. These domain names were registered and are currently being used to mimic our business. The domain names included the … historicnelsonranch s candal . com and historicnelsonranch . org and a bunch of other names some registered in Spain, My domain name and business name is The Historic Nelson Ranch at http://www.historicnelsonranch.com. They also registered and a bunch of other domain names and then tied them to a Google Blogger site.

The Google blogger site posted my bank account information, my husbands Social security numbers, dates of birth from documents stolen from inside my house along with a bunch or wrong information . I filed numerous police reports of the death threats and email threats I was receiving and a week later, my family and workers were shot at 3 times in the middle of the day by 4 illegal aliens form the adjacent property, my husband caught the guys and the Yolo County Sheriff’s office let them go as they were “Shooting at Ground Squirrles” and we had to the law firm of Matt Gonzalez Leigh get our bank info and social security numbers off of the Internet as Google would not take them down.

I am just an outspoken small minority female business owner and also own the Tack Warehouse saddle shop on Main Street in Woodland. These guys along with our County have been out of line. I am Glad Chris Bosh won one for the small guys out there! And a victory against the Internet .

Working does not just fulfil the felicific calculus, it also improves one’s individual sense of self worth, life chances and interpersonal skills; making new and genuine friends. The most beautiful sight is to see colour in money or skin.

My nine year old son has asthma and don’t listen to anyone to says they don’t need it; would you stop taking cold/flu medication in winter? Also encourage your child to drink water and exercise, remove dust from home environments and eat five fruits and vegetables a day.

Why do race, ethnicity, and sex need to be considered at all in deciding who gets awarded a contract? It’s fine to make sure contracting programs are open to all, that bidding opportunities are widely publicized beforehand, and that no one gets discriminated against because of skin color, national origin, or sex. But that means no preferences because of skin color, etc. either–whether it’s labeled a “set-aside,” a “quota,” or a “goal,” since they all end up amounting to the same thing. Such discrimination is unfair and divisive; it costs the taxpayers money to award a contract to someone other than the lowest bidder; and it’s almost always illegal—indeed, unconstitutional—to boot (see 42 U.S.C. section 1981 and comments we submitted to the Colorado DOT here: http://www.ceousa.org/content/view/655/86/ ). Those who insist on engaging in such discrimination deserve to be sued, and they will lose–it’s happened before in Chicago, but I guess it will have to happen again.
