Emmy-winning CBS News correspondent Harold Dow, who helped shape the documentary program 48 Hours and covered the kidnapping of Patricia Hearst and the Sept. 11 attacks, has died. He was 62.

ZYNC from American Express and MTV, a division of Viacom Inc. announce Gabi Gregg as the winner of “Follow Me: The Search for the first MTV TJ” competition, www.zync.mtv.com. Gabi was named the first MTV TJ “Twitter Jockey” after a nationwide vote during last night’s finale – which aired on MTV and was streamed simultaneously on MTV.com – and will be based at MTV’s global headquarters in New York City. The three month long job search featured 20 candidates battling it out in a series of Twitter challenges.
Gabi Gregg, 23, is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College where she graduated cum laude in May 2008 with a degree in International Relations and African American Studies. In 2008, she founded the popular blog “Young, Fat and Fabulous.” Since then she’s been interviewed by The New York Times and Good Morning America, and has been featured in the fashion magazines French Glamour and Vogue Italia.

Ice-T arrested in New York City for driving with lapsed insurance

Ice-T got stopped cold by the NYPD.
The famed rapper was arrested in Manhattan early Tuesday for driving with expired auto insurance, police said.
The hip-hop pioneer, who stars in “Law & Order: SVU,” was pulled over at the corner of W. 40th St. and 11th Ave. at 9 a.m. for not wearing a seatbelt, police said.
Paula Patton joins ‘Law & Order: SVU’

NBC confirmed what had been speculated last month, that ‘Precious’ star Paula Patton will join the cast of ‘Law & Order: SVU’ as the new ADA. NBC officially announced the hiring.
According to TVGuide.com, Patton’s character’s name is Mikka Von, and she will appear in multiple episodes, starting in episode five. She steps into shoes most recently filled by Sharon Stone and Stephanie March.

The groups, including GLAAD, took out a full-page ad in yesterday’s Variety, criticizing “The View” for “blaming” increased HIV rates among African-American women on African-American gay and bisexual men.”

After one lack of response, Meyers told the crowd, “You may not care for that joke, but all the proceeds went to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.” Along with targeting LeBron James — who appeared last week on a ballyhooed ESPN special that benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs — Meyers joked about Lakers Coach Phil Jackson’s 11th championship, Tiger Woods and Tim Tebow.

ESPN’s telecast of “The Decision,” when NBA superstar LeBron James announced his decision to join the Miami Heat, generated a 7.3 overnight rating from 9-10:15 p.m. ET. The 7.3 is the highest overnight rating for any non-NFL ESPN program this calendar year. Additionally, based on overnights, last night’s ESPN telecast was the highest-rated program of the night (cable or broadcast).

McDonald’s today announced Sherri Shepherd, television co-host of “The View,” will join nationally syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner as a co-host for the 2010 McDonald’s 365Black Awards. Joyner has hosted the event for the past two years and was himself a recipient of the prestigious award in 2003. Now in its seventh year, the McDonald’s 365Black Awards program annually recognizes African American leaders for their lifetime achievements and for their contributions to all Americans.

Vanessa Williams is going from “Ugly” to “Desperate.”
The actress, who recently wrapped the final episode of “Ugly Betty,” has joined the cast of “Desperate Housewives.”
According to ABC, Williams will play one of Wisteria Lane’s new housewives and will appear in almost every episode next season.
