Jordan Peele, creator of the mega-hit social horror Get Out, will be giving viewers chills once again. It was announced that Peele will lend his voice as host for the reboot of The Twilight Zone.
According to an official announcement clip from CBS All Access, Peele will host and narrate the revival of the classic sci-fi series –continuing the role helmed by Rod Serling in the 1960 original. In the 25-second clip, you can hear Serling recite the iconic opening, then morph into the voice of Peele. As Deadline reports, Peele will explore a creepy dimensions, similar to the ‘sunken place,’ in the series. The reboot will be a modern reimagining of the original– which aired from 1958 to 1964.
“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours,” Peele said per Deadline. “I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone.”
CBS Television Studio, along with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, will produce the forthcoming series. Production for The Twilight Zone is expected to begin this fall and slated to premiere in 2019. Peele will also serve as executive producer for the series along with ABC’s Designated Survivor producer Simon Kinberg.
