Jordan Peele Announces New Horror Film ‘Us’

Get ready guy because Jordan Peele is back with a new horror movie!

The Oscar-winning actor announced his forthcoming horror film titled “Us” will be coming to theaters sooner than you think! On Tuesday (May 8), Peele took to social media to announce the premiere date and poster for the upcoming film. The film’s eerie but simple poster shows a black and white silhouettes of two people with the title.

For now, there are little details about the film’s plot. However, it has been reported that film will have an all-star cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources say Black Panther stars Lupita Nyong’o and Wilson Duke are being eyed to star in Peele’s sophomore feature, along with The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss. It is reported that Nyong’o and Duke will play a couple, while Moss will play part of the other couple – if the deal is made.

Back in February, Peele teased the upcoming flick saying he wanted it dabble more in the horror genre. “One thing I know is that this is genre; and playing around with the thriller, horror, action, fun, genre of intrigue is my favorite. That’s my sweet spot. So I think tonally it should resemble Get Out.” He said to THR. “That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one. So yeah, every choice has really either pretty big ramifications because it is the second.”

“Us” will be the first film since his 2017 blockbuster “Get Out.” The film, starring Daniel Kaluuya, Lakeith Stanfield and Lil Rel Howery, opened at no. 1 at the domestic box office and grossed over $200 million worldwide. The film quickly became a pop culture phenomenon and earned several awards, including an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

“Us” is expected to hit theaters March 15, 2019!
