As fans wait patiently for the premiere of the long-awaited film, Black Panther, stars gathered at the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday (January 29). The event for the Ryan Coogler directed film was filled with Hollywood’s finest including Issa Rae, Snoop Dogg, Donald Glover, Janelle Monae and more!
Celebs appeared on the purple carpet dressed like Wakandan royalty and of course it was expected! “I was hoping for this,” “Black Panther” costume designer Ruth E. Carter said per USA Today. “All of the award shows I was watching on TV, I was like, ‘Oh, you wait until Black Panther’ red carpet rolls around. It’s a celebration,”
“How best to get the party started than to, on premiere night, have the cast, have the crew, have the directors and everybody participate in this explosion of patterns and African prints?” Carter continued. “Everyone can join in the fun!”
Not long after the star-studded event, reviews of the Marvel film began pouring in from celebrities who attended the premiere. “Just got back from the Black Panther premiere and after party. You will see this movie five or six times. It is everything and then some.” Jemele Hill wrote, while Tessa Thompson simply tweeted “BLACK PANTHER, my goodness.”

Black Panther. So very good. I cheered and laughed and pumped my fist. I’ve never seen a super hero movie like it. Everybody involved with it deserves a medal and a high five.
