Spike Lee’s “She’s Gotta Have It” Renewed for a Second Season

The Spike Lee hit show “She’s Gotta Have It” has been renewed for a second season! Spike Lee, creator of the series based on the 1986 movie, took to Instagram to share the exciting news on New Year’s Day.

Lee and his Wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, wished fans a Happy New Year before revealing that the series will be coming back for a second season. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” Spike said in the video.

DeWanda Wise, who stars as Nola Darling, also took to Instagram to share the news. “Back ta werq! Season [2] is OFFICIAL!!!” Wise wrote. “Can’t wait to return to BK. Congrats to aaallll us.”

According to Variety, the Netflix series has been picked up for eight, half-hour episodes. Along with Spike, Tonya Lewis Lee, Barry Michael Cooper and Lynn Nottage serves as executive producers for the series. The series centers on a Brooklyn artist, Nola Darling, and her life as she juggles family, work, and her relationships with three very different men. The show stars Lyriq Bent, Anthony Ramos, Cleo Anthony, Ilfenesh Hadera and Margot Bingham.

“She’s Gotta Have It” premiered November 23rd on the streaming service with 10 episodes directed by Spike Lee.
