Tamar Braxton Reportedly Files for Divorce from Husband of 8 Years, Vincent Herbert

After a few short weeks of doing press and promo for her new album, Tamar Braxton is singing a different tune. The singer has reportedly filed from a divorce from husband of eight years, Vincent Herbert. The two were just a month away from celebrating nine years of marriage, but it looks like enough is enough.

Braxton has filed papers in LA county court as of Tuesday morning (Oct. 24) and is reportedly seeking a “dissolution of marriage with a minor child.” It seems like yet another blow to the 40-year-old singer who has going through a lot in recent years financially, professionally, and personally. Braxton was notably let go from her hit daytime show The Real after allegedly being continuously difficult during production.

As a couple, the Braxton-Herberts were forced to put their Calabasas mansion on the housing market for $15 million – as The YBF reports. Rumor has it, the same home was found on listing sites like Trulia as a foreclosure. Herbert was originally known for the part he played in Lady Gaga’s career when she was starting out. The 44-year-old was a part of her management team and reportedly owes SONY $3 million as a part of their settlement agreement for a lawsuit regarding an advance.

Braxton and Herbert were also at the center of some personal relationship drama in the media last year when their marriage troubles took center stage. In August 2016, police were called to settle a domestic violence issue in an Atlanta hotel where Herbert allegedly bit Braxton’s finger. The two never spoke about it publically, but where there’s smoke, there’s typically a fire.

Although the two are known to bicker, thanks to behind the scenes glimpses of their marriage seen in reality shows like Braxton Family Values and Tamar & Vince, allegations of abuse took things to a new level. Their marriage being on the rocks seemed to be evident. As previously stated, Braxton even made it known during her recent round of promo for her new album Bluebird of Happiness that her current album would be her last. She was going to quit making albums in order to “save her marriage.”

While there is some speculation that this divorce news could be a publicity stunt, a rep for Braxton confirmed the news of the divorce with TMZ, saying the singer made an “extremely difficult decision.”

“Collectively, their son Logan and his well-being during this very unfortunate process is most important. We ask that everyone respects her privacy during this very difficult time. She appreciates everyone’s love and prayers.”

The couple have a four-year-old son together, named Logan Vincent.
