The Bobbi Kristina Biopic is Coming to a TV Near You This Fall

This past Monday (August 28), cable television network TV One has announced that a biopic about the late Bobbi Kristina Brown is coming to the small screen this fall. The biopic is hitting television screens a little over two years after Bobbi Kristina’s untimely death. A sneak peek of the coming attraction was shown during the premiere of another network original When Love Kills, which aired earlier this week.

The biopic, titled Bobbi Kristina, is slated to premiere in October and it stars newcomer Joy Rovaris in its principal role. The story of the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston is no doubt a tragic one to retell.

On January 31, 2015, Bobbi Kristina was found in a bathtub in her Alpharetta home by her partner Nick Gordon and a friend. Gordon performed CPR on her until emergency services arrived to their home. From there, she was transported to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia. Doctors determined that her brain function was “significantly diminished” and placed her in a medically induced coma, with chances of her recovering being deemed a miracle.

Six months later, Bobbi Kristina died on July 26 at the age of 22. Her death resulted from lobar pneumonia induced by drug intoxication and immersion.

In the brief snippets shown in the trailer, viewers can see Bobbi Kristina fighting with family members over her boyfriend Nick Gordon (Nadji Jeter). Gordon plays an important role in the demise of Bobbi Kristina, who wasn’t quite the same after her mother’s death. Courts deemed him legally responsible for the death of Bobbi Kristina and he has been ordered to pay Bobbi Kristina’s estate $36 million.
