Mariah Carey Teases New Christmas Song in Upcoming Film ‘The Star’

As we all know, Mariah Carey is known for creating everyone’s favorite Christmas song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Well, it looks like we’re about to get another Christmas song from Mariah! The award-winning singer is giving fans a preview of the upcoming holiday film The Star, which features a new holiday jingle crafted for the upcoming film.

According to Billboard, Carey took to social media on Wednesday (July 26) to share a brand-new teaser trailer for the feel-good film The Star. Featuring her new song of the same name – the film tells the story of animals that were a part of the Christmas story as their human counterparts. A courageous donkey named Bo goes on an adventure with his animal friends during the first Christmas ever. The film also features a star-studded cast including Keegan-Michael Key, Oprah Winfrey, Gina Rodriguez, Tyler Perry, Ving Rhames, Gabriel Iglesias, Anthony Anderson, and Steven Yeun as Bo the Donkey.

“Very excited to share a tease for the new movie #TheStarMovie which will be out in theaters in time for Christmas! #NewSong #TheStar,” Mariah tweeted to her 18.4 million followers.

After revealing the new trailer, fans took to Twitter to share their excitement about the new Christmas song from the “Touch My Body” singer.

Back in March, Mariah announced that her legendary song “All I Want for Christmas is You” will become an animated film. “My song is becoming a movie! You’re the first to hear about this exciting news!” she tweeted. “Follow @AllIWantMovie for more updates. #AllIWantMovie.”

Directed by Guy Vasilovich, the film will expand on that of Carey’s children’s book, which shares the same name. The book tells the story of a young Mariah who finds a puppy named Princess and comes to the conclusion that that is all she wants for Christmas.

The Star does not have a set release date but is expected to premiere during the 2017 holiday season.
