A$AP Rocky to Become the New Face on Under Armour

Under Armour is said to be enlisting A$AP Rocky to become the face of the brand’s lifestyle footwear and apparel line.

Along with ballet dancer Misty Copland, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the “Canal St.” rapper is reportedly said to be the latest addition to the Under Armour roster. According to NiceKicks, A$AP Rocky inked a multi-year deal with the company. The deal, which has been in the works for some time, will be a non-exclusive partnership that will allow Rocky to team with UAS creative director Tim Coppens and his team of designers. The high end UAS line was launched back in 2016, best known for its jackets and accessories, the line also included tops, joggers, and chinos.

The move comes after the Baltimore-based company witnessed an increase in sales in 2015 and 2016. However, Under Armour has been in quite a pinch after the brand is struggling to meet sales expectations as stock continues to fall – as reported by Billboard. Under Armour is expected to reach a wider demographic by bringing the Harlem rapper on board, who has over 6 million followers on Instagram and 1.63 million Twitter followers.

As we know, A$AP Rocky is no stranger to the fashion world. He previously teamed up with Guess to drop two capsule collections and also worked with designer Jeremy Scott for Adidas Originals. On top of all that, Rocky was also the face of Dior’s fall/winter campaign of 2016. Pretty Flacko isn’t only sticking to fashion, he also worked with Courvoisier Cognac to launch the “Honor Your Code” campaign. As for music, news is buzzing about Rocky after singer Lana Del Rey teased two songs featuring the rapper. He was also featured on Tyler, The Creator’s new track, “Who Dat Boy.”
