Remy Ma Set to Launch Fund for Women Who Cannot Conceive

Not too long ago, rapper Remy Ma revealed that she suffered from an ectopic pregnancy, which resulted in a miscarriage. Although the miscarriage was a tough situation for both Remy and her husband Papoose, the couple used the tragic loss as a platform to educate and inspire couples who have dealt with similar situations. Now the Bronx native is launching a fund to aid women who have fertility issues.

During an interview with Essence, the “All the Way Up” rapper stated her organization will help “women who are like me or have similar situations to me but they can’t afford it, they could possibly get these procedures done and have children because as a woman that’s one of the things that you can do that no other being can do.”

Remy also shared her feelings about having issues conceiving, her miscarriage, and how her situation opened her eyes to a problem that affects women all over the world. “I was distraught, I was embarrassed, I was ashamed, I felt less than a woman,” the Love and Hip Hop New York star shared with Essence.

“He [Doctor] assured me that that was no way to feel and that you know, for a certain amount of thousands of dollars it could be fixed. And because I had the finances I never even thought twice about it. I was like ‘alright how many thousand? Okay no problem, we’ll start doing it now.’”

She then began to explain that she had seen this happen with other women, but they cannot go through with any procedures simply because they cannot afford it.

“It wasn’t until that I publicly spoke about it that I realized how many women are in the same predicament as me where they can have children they just need an assist from medical procedures and they can’t because they are not financially stable enough to do it.”

Being that she has been quite vocal about her heartbreaking situation, it is amazing to see Remy use it to aid women all over the country.
