Diddy Takes the Crown Away from Taylor Swift and Is Named World’s Highest Paid Celebrity by Forbes

Sean “Diddy” Combs has left his mark on the annual Forbes Celebrity 100 list and doing so by taking the crown as highest paid celebrity in the world. In doing so, he also knocks singer Taylor Swift out of the top spot as last year’s titleholder. The “Shake It Off” singer dropped all the way to the number 49 spot on the list.

According to the finance magazine, the hip hop mogul has earned a whopping $130 million over the past year, between June 2016 and June 2017. Diddy might have hung up his hat for the most part as an entertainer, but a lot of the wealth he accumulated over the year was attributed to his business moves.

The 47-year-old New York native earned his impressive annual salary this past year through the partially selling his Sean John clothing line, his collaboration with Ciroc vodka, and, of course, his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour.

Not too far behind Diddy is another superstar in her own right, Beyoncé, who earned $105 million between June 2016 and June 2017. Rounding out the top 5 from the list of the world’s highest celebrity earners is author J.K. Rowling ($95 million), rapper Drake ($94 million), and renowned soccer athlete Cristiano Ronaldo ($93 million).

When it comes to success, Diddy has famously said the quote, “I demand the best. Sleep is forbidden. If you work for me, you have to roll how I roll. I’m not really human. I’m like a machine.”

The “Bad Boy for Life” took to Instagram to punctuate his new Forbes feat with another quote of his own. The multiplatinum rapper obviously wants fans to know the true to keys to success comes down to your ability to maintain focus.
