Looks like Brooklyn’s very own Fabolous has another achievement to add to his list of accolades. On Sunday (June 11), Fabolous was honored with the key to Brooklyn from borough president Eric L. Adams. Along with the key, the “Lituation” rapper was inducted into the Celebrity Path on the grounds of the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.
Back in March, Fab was rewarded with the key during a special ceremony held at the Grand Courtroom in Brooklyn’s Borough Hall. The ceremony hosted music’s hit makers, including Wale, Ryan Leslie, and DJ Clue.
“I feel honored to be inducted into Brooklyn’s own Celebrity Path and receive a key to the city in June,” Fab said per XXL. “Along with the accolades and citation I was presented with last week from Borough President Eric L. Adams, I am grateful to be recognized by my hometown for my contributions and to receive the borough’s highest honors.”
During the ceremony, famed producer Swizz Beatz gave a touching speech about the Brooklyn rapper’s skill set and his effect on the industry.
“Congratulations to my brother Fab for being the secret weapon,” Swizz Beatz said. “I call him the secret weapon. He’s the secret weapon for fashion, the secret weapon for music, the secret weapon for creativity, he’s the secret weapon behind a lot of artists doing what they do today.”
Following Loso’s big accomplishment, many fans took to social media to congratulate the Hip Hop veteran – including his brother, Paul Cain, who wrote a warm congrats in an Instagram post:
Congrats Fab!
