August Alsina Is Getting Back to the Music Grind with His Don’t Matter Tour

August Alsina is getting back to the music and will be taking his grind nationwide with the help of his Don’t Matter Tour. The tour, named after his most recent single “Don’t Matter,” was just announced and will include 25 cities all across North America. The news of his tour comes at a bit of a surprise, as the R&B crooner recently revealed he has an autoimmune disease that has spurred his battle with liver disease.

The issues he has had with the autoimmune disease started back in 2014 when Alsina collapsed on stage during a show, resulting in a three-day coma. The New Orleans native came clean with his health battle during a candid interview with his friend and mentor, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith that he shared a clip of on his Instagram.

In the conversation that he described as one of his “most healing conversations,” Alsina said, “I have a liver disease where my autoimmune system is fighting against itself. The reality of it is, I’m sick all the time. I don’t really like to talk about it because I’m not looking for anybody’s sympathy. Don’t treat me like I’m a f***ing cancer patient, ’cause I’m not.”

The vocalist is not allowing his diagnosis or health condition to stop him from doing what he loves. As previously stated, days later, the singer announced that he will hit the stage in 25 cities on dates that round out the summer. Kicking off on July 27 in San Antonio, Texas, the Don’t Matter Tour will also include dates in cities like Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Toronto, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Its finale show will be on September 3 in Seattle, Washington.

Joining him on the tour will be up and coming artists Rotimi and Tone Smith warming up the crowd as his opening acts.
