Travis Scott Broke Rappers Jay Z and Kanye West’s Record with “Goosebumps”

Travis Scott has been making headlines a lot lately. The Houston rapper has received major press for being the rebound boyfriend of socialite Kylie Jenner, has had a hot new feature with TDE First Lady SZA on the track “Love Galore,” is dropping new music left and right, and headlining the wildest tour of the year so far. Scott’s Bird’s Eye View tour has been a ride for concertgoers, who have experienced shows where people jump off of balconies during performances and even start a riot.

TMZ reported that Scott, born Jacques Webster Jr., was arrested earlier this week for “inciting a riot” in Arkansas. According to the New York Daily News, Scott told fans to rush the stage, which caused the riot. The rapper was officially charged with disorderly conduct.

The 25-year-old made news for another reason over the weekend. Scott broke a record initially held by Jay Z and Kanye West. The two rappers performed “N****s in Paris” a record-breaking 11 times in Paris back in 2011. The duo had been performing the hit Watch the Throne record 10 times in a row during the US leg of their joint tour. When they got to the City of Light, they decided to cap off the event ceremoniously with an 11th performance of the song.

Scott took their record three steps forward, by performing his new hit record “Goosebumps” an unbelievable 14 times in a row!

We’re not sure if he went on stage that night in Oklahoma City with the intention to break the 2011 Jay Z/Kanye record, but he did that and then some. “Goosebumps” (featuring Kendrick Lamar) has been receiving a lot of airplay on radio waves and Scott is well on his way to being one of the artists that define the sounds of summer ’17.

Also new this week for the rapper, Scott dropped a few new songs Monday: “Butterfly Effect,” “A man,” and “Green & Purple,” which features Playboi Carti.

After his Birds Eye View tour wraps up, Scott will gear up again to head on tour, this time with Kendrick Lamar as his opening act on the DAMN. Tour.
