Future Lands His Fifth RIAA Award With the Help of His Certified Gold Self-Titled Album

Future has been the man of the year when it comes to chart-toppers this first quarter. His single “Mask Off” has been steadily climbing the Billboard Hot 100 as it earned the Atlanta rapper his highest-charting song to date. The song went platinum as of April 18 thanks in part to a popular internet “Mask Off” Challenge, as well as the hit just being a catchy tune overall. Just last week, he released a video for the banger, featuring model Amber Rose. Today (May 8), it looks like Nayvadus “Future” Wilburn has even bigger accomplishments to celebrate: his self-titled project.

FUTURE was released back in February of this year and has officially hit the highly coveted gold status, which means the “Commas” rapper is that much closer to seeing platinum.

The album went gold on April 25 and is the Atlanta native’s fifth RIAA-certified album to date.

Its predecessors were Pluto, Honest, DS2, and EVOL. That same day, the lead single from the album, “Draco”, was also certified gold. In April alone, Future has racked up seven RIAA plaques in total, from current projects and ones from the past as well. In addition to “Mask Off” going platinum, and his self-titled album and “Draco” going gold, “Low Life” (EVOL) also went triple platinum, “Used to This” and “F*** Up Some Commas” went platinum, and “Blow Me a Bag” also went gold.

Golden plaques for Pluto and Honest were also awarded to Future last month, totaling the artists to seven additional plaques:

For his most recent RIAA gold plaque, Epic Records tweeted Future, commending him on his milestone:

His self-titled album was one of two back-to-back albums the Atlanta rapper released back in February, with the second one being called HNDRXX. With the success of the album, we do not doubt that a similar fate lies ahead for HNDRXX. The 33-year-old is currently on tour with Young Thu, Tory Lanez, Migos, and A$AP Ferg on the Nobody’s Safe Tour.

2017 has been good to Future so far. Keep the accolades coming!
