WNBA Star Skylar Diggins and College Sweetheart Daniel Smith Tie the Knot

Skylar Diggins is a married woman now! This past weekend, WNBA star Skylar Diggins (and one of rapper Drake’s most infamous WCWs) walked down the aisle and into the arms of holy matrimony with now-husband Daniel Smith.

The two announced their engagement on Instagram last June and wasted no time meeting at the alter. The nuptials took place in Chicago at the Museum of Contemporary Art in a ceremony and reception that was no doubt filled with love and adoration for the long-time couple. The wedding was intimate and included a guest list of close friends and family members. The event was planned by the award-winning luxury Chicago wedding and event planner Kesh Events with wedding photography done by Tarji Michelle Photography.

The newly married couple shared sweet nothings about their big day on Instagram yesterday (May 4). Diggins shared in her caption, “Married my best friend this weekend, officially making me the happiest woman on earth! Thanks to everyone who has sent their love and support. To forever!”

Diggins and Smith are college sweethearts and both attended Notre Dame as their Alma mater. They have been a couple ever since, even as Diggins propelled to superstardom since bursting onto the professional basketball scene back in 2013. The 26-year-old acts as point guard for the Dallas Wings and has acquired such titles as the 2014 WNBA Most Improved Player and was a two-time WNBA All-Star in 2014 and 2015. She also dabbles in modeling work as a Nike sports model as well as BodyArmor. While the epicenter of Diggins’ career is basketball, it seems that her college sweetheart Smith is well on his way to becoming an accomplished artist.

Since marrying, the athlete has changed her name professionally to Skylar Diggins-Smith.
